2021, InjuryCitation Excerpt :Incidence of shoulder dislocation surgery is rapidly increasing [11,12], but data on epidemiology are limited in current literature. Despite several publications address shoulder dislocation etiology [13-15], indications for surgery [16,17], and outcomes in selected groups of patients [7,8,10,16,18-21], little information is available on epidemiology of surgery and hospitalization for shoulder instability. Understanding the trends of variability in shoulder instability repair and hospitalization represents an important effort to study the evolution of these procedures and to plan the related health service [22,23].
